Welcome 2020 with Tranquil Dawn – AkzoNobel’s Color of the Year!

Last month saw the introduction of AkzoNobel’s Colour of the Year 2020 – ‘Tranquil Dawn’, in conjunction with the launch of the Singapore Interior Design Awards (SIDA) competition hosted by Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS) at The Masons Table.

Tranquil Dawn also known as Grey Jeans (45GY 55/052) is a beautiful, fluid shade that floats between green, blue, and grey.

Extensive research into global color trends and consumer behavior has led to the formulation and inspiration behind Color of the Year – Tranquil Dawn. The color Tranquil Dawn draws inspiration from the colors of the dawn that shroud the horizon in a calm veneer!  The color also symbolizes the dawn of a new decade as we welcome the year 2020.

CF20 PALETTES – The palette which has been designed around Tranquil Dawn has been presented to consumers allowing them to play with shades from the Color of the Year to reflect their own personality and how they perceive their home and work places to look and feel.  The unveiling of the color also exhibits to consumers how they can practically use the Color Of the Year and related palettes across homes and other areas such as furniture, consumer electronics and automotives.

The palette has been further divided into four smaller palettes that reflect the four trends: care, play, meaning and creativity.

The launch of Singapore Interior Design Awards Competition 2019/2020 also witnessed the unveiling of new award categories such as AkzoNobel Colour Futures Award, SIDA Youth,  along with a new accreditation scheme, International Design Awards Recognition Scheme (IDARS), for the ID industry.

With the launch of SIDA, consumers can look forward to more exciting interior design trends including colors that reflect one’s personality and designs that can make a statement.

For now, use Color of the year 2020- Tranquil Dawn is here to help personalize your home, office and electronics with a color that is both ambient and exclusive.

As they say, “For the mind disturbed, the still beauty of dawn is nature’s finest balm.”
