Singapore Marks 40 Years of Design Leadership with Launch of Global WDBO Platform

The Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) celebrated its 40th anniversary with a significant milestone: the launch of the World Design Business Organisation (WDBO). Formed in partnership with Consulus, the platform aims to advance the business and economics of design on a global scale, positioning Singapore as a neutral hub for cross-border collaboration. The event also honoured the top recipients of the Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) Awards 2025, reinforcing the nation’s growing influence in design-led innovation.

A key initiative under WDBO is the Design Power Index (DPI) — the world’s first longitudinal framework designed to measure how design contributes to economic growth and social impact. The inaugural 40 organisations featured in the index represent over S$140 billion in verified commercial value, operating across more than 60 countries with a combined workforce of 140,000. The three-year study will track how design shapes business outcomes across sectors.

Alongside the WDBO launch, the event also celebrated the Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) Awards 2025.
