House Tour: An apartment for an elderly couple demonstrates how style and function can coexist.


It is common thinking that homes of the elderly should be just utilitarian bereft of any style. That’s not true with a semi-retired couple living along Kim Tian Road. When they met Emily Tan of Weiken, their brief was to create a modern home with clean lines and it had to be easy to maintain. The inclusion of plenty of storage space was also paramount. There also had to be more space for them to walk around.

The custome-made banquette is modern, chic and purposeful.
